Collaborative Law

Collaborative law is a relatively new way of settling family disputes.  The process is designed to ensure you are able to resolve all the issues surrounding your separation in a dignified manner.

Each person instructs a specially trained lawyer and all negotiations take place face to face rather than at Court or through correspondence.  Everyone involved agrees to reach an agreement without the need for Court proceedings.

All matters can be resolved, and particular focus is given to any children of the family to ensure they are affected as little as possible by your separation.

If you wish to find out more about this process contact Catriona Levitt for more information.

Separation is difficult for all parties and particularly so if you have children.  At Steels we provide clear advice and guidance to ensure you are able to make informed decisions concerning your children.  We have a specialist team who can advise you in relation to all matters concerning residence, contact, parental responsibility and the financial support of your children.
